Sell old console and games ( Keep any which are cross compatible with your new console).
Buy Xbox Series S or X - Cross check compatible games.
Make sure you have accompanying Smart TV - there is not much point upgrading console and using old TV.
Download Xbox Game Pass and Xbox App for mobile gaming.
Buy Mobile Gaming Clip if you are requiring mobile gaming.
Buy a chat board for the Xbox Controller for social networking outside Xbox
Also if you are planning to talk to people in-game or video on social media you will need a camera and headset.
Advantages - Great New Gaming Platform and a new TV with the use of your old favourite games.
Disadvantages - there is not really the option to socialise with Xbox and TV except on Xbox, Other Associate Xbox and Game Streaming Apps (Discord, Omlet Arcade add links). A laptop based scenario maybe better for other social aspects of the internet - Facebook, LinkedIn etc.
